strong but fragile center

"It's the strong and carrying center of our body, yet so fragile and sensitive."

In this project i explored the possibilities of jacquard weaving technique as a tool to build a supporting textile for our spine. The spine is the strong and carrying center of the body, but at the same time it is such a fragile and sensitive part. Why not trying to use clothes to support it over the day, especially for persons with a deformed spine (scoliosis). The aim is to generate a Textile which is strong enough to build sufficient support for a deformed spine, but still be as comfortable as possible in everyday live.

Textile design/West: Double layered Jacquard weaving - warp cotton white; weft linen white 

Jacket: Jersay with melted and molded plexiglass inside.
